On a clear and away from "light pollution" night, we'll cover firmament of stars twinkling overhead. Perhaps we realize that some set of them seem to form the schematic drawing of an object or an animal. That's what happened to ancient civilizations, and put them to such stellar names sets.
So we Ursa Major and Minor, Canis Major and Canis Minor, the River of Life or Eridanus, the Southern Cross and all 88 constellations in that firmament is divided.
The largest constellation called Hydra and occupies about 100 degrees in the sky. The smaller the Southern Cross with just 68 degrees.
Of the 88 constellations which 12 are found on the celestial Ecuador, they are the constellations of the zodiac.
