The third dimension as its name suggests, contains three parameters: width, length and depth.
This depth parameter is detected by the organ of vision, eye, thanks to the stereoscopic optical phenomenon consisting overlap in the brain, the two images of both eyes differs from one another, due to the separation between them.
By taking two photos of the same object or landscape, moving the camera for taking the second image, at an approximate separation between the eyes and seeing these two photos through special viewers away, you get to see the effect of depth or stereoscopic effect (3D effect).
There is also the anaglyph method of taking pictures, right with red filter and left with cyan filter. The two photos overlap and are observed with anaglyph glasses (They left red lens and the right lens cyan), thus achieves the stereoscopic effect as in the photo below.

Converted to 3D by me, using the Lasso 3D program
If you have not some anaglyph glasses, with red and blue cellophane you cut several red squares, and blue squares. Superimpose the squares. Should be sufficient to three of each. Observe the anaglyph pictures holding the red squares opposite the left eye and the blue squares to the right eye. In chinese stores, anaglyph glasses are achieved very economical.
